Physical / Digital

AA started painting on canvas when he was 14 years old in 1981. He has a degree in Visual Arts and has a career as a "traditional" artist with solo exhibitions until 2019.
In digital painting he started in 2003, marveling at the virtues of the Wacom. Little by little, first in Photoshop and then with the ipad and apple pencil, he was incorporating digital art and mixing it with his physical painting style.
The first thing that the irruption of digital painting gave him is the possibility to enhance his style with tools that are impossible in physical art: Cut out details of the work to enlarge them, change the tone, the contrast, the saturation... work the light in another way, enhance the composition. The possibilities are now endless.
It was a long process. At the beginning, technology didn't give him the tools he needed to be satisfied with the results he was looking for. Since the arrival of the Ipad Pro, the Apple pencil and some exclusive applications for digital artists, he was able to get closer to better results.
In his work of the last few years he starts painting oil on canvas in the atelier, photographs the painting in HR and continues the work at home on the ipad.
